To conserve more energy and capitalize on sustainable and renewable energy sources, Himalaya has installed and commissioned our own captive hybrid power generation plant in the Jagalur, Davanagere district of Karnataka, India.

90% of the Makali and Tumkur campuses operate on this captive hybrid power, generating 30,722,699 units of electricity and saving a carbon footprint equivalent to 25,807 tCO2e.

Himalaya has also installed and commissioned rooftop solar panels at both the campuses.

Installation of solar panels at our Makali campus generated 3,975,738 units of electricity, realizing a carbon footprint equivalent of 3,340 tCO2e.

Installation of solar panels at the Tumkur campus generated 2,498,075 units of electricity, saving us a carbon footprint equivalent to 2,098 tCO2e.

LED lights used in both the campuses save a carbon footprint equivalent to 2,555 tCO2e.

We have installed 1,262 tons of energy efficient refrigeration (TR), saving 9,726,754 electricity units and a carbon footprint equivalent of 8,170 tCO2e. We conserved energy, saving over USD 6.32 million/INR 53.12 crore.

*tCO2e stands for tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.
