In partnership with Smile Train India, Himalaya initiated "Muskaan" – a program to support corrective cleft lip surgery. Through this initiative, we provide free cleft surgeries for children. Muskaan raises awareness about cleft lip and palate treatment at the grassroots level and provides corrective surgeries to underprivileged children, significantly improving their quality of life. A 45-minute surgery can help children overcome eating, breathing, and speaking difficulties.
In addition to financial support, we have launched awareness campaigns to dispel myths surrounding this condition. Most people, especially in villages, are unaware that a simple corrective surgery can address this condition and help children lead a normal life.
Our customers, too, get an opportunity to support Muskaan. A contribution from purchasing every Himalaya Lip Care product is made towards the cause.
We have captured the transformational journey of young Jyothi and Munmun, two girls born with cleft lips, and how simple surgeries through Muskaan transformed their lives. These films helped us bring to the forefront aspects such as the emotional turmoil faced by children with cleft lip. However, the positive aspect of such stories is the hope and aspirations they cherish. Muskaan helps the children obtain healthier lives and paves the way for them to achieve their dreams.
Muskaan has been recognized with many accolades.
