Women are known to be influential leaders and effective changemakers in all aspects of life. Himalaya Wellness Company has started a unique program, Lakshmi, to empower women in rural India.

The aim of the program is to help women experience financial independence by generating employment opportunities. We help these women undergo skill training programs such as product training, earning opportunities, selling skills, negotiation skills, customer complaint handling, and demand generation to increase sales. Over 5,000 women across Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Odisha have benefited from the program.

Over 1,000 women are already self-sufficient and have started earning a living. The team has conducted over 50 training activities in the past few months and distributed 1,000 Baby Gift Kits containing Himalaya Gentle Baby Soap, Himalaya Baby Powder, and Himalaya Baby Massage Oil in the COVID-19 affected areas of Maharashtra and Rajasthan. The beneficiaries of Project Lakshmi have found a new voice and become agents of change, while simultaneously transforming their lives.
