Himalaya Fresh Start Foundation (HFSF) has been working to enable and empower people with disabilities. We aim to usher in a fresh start for differently abled individuals from economically challenged families.

Our partner, Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), popularly known as Jaipur Foot, along with Rotary International, has been helping us provide prosthetic limbs to the underprivileged. Jaipur Foot has already enabled 1.8 million people across the world. We provided prosthetic limbs to over 270 amputees from the Hassan district, Karnataka, and the neighboring regions as a part of Himalaya's "Mega Limb Camp." HFSF believes determination has no disability, and we are committed to empowering more people.

In this endeavor, we recognized a beneficiary at the camp. Latha had lost her arm in an accident; she did not let disability come in her way and continued to support her family financially. Through HFSF, Latha received a prosthetic hand. Recognizing her positive attitude and passion for making the most out of life, we offered her an opportunity to work with our Retail team, taking care of audits and billing-related work at our store in Hassan.

Through the camp, we aided differently abled people with various mobility aids, such as prosthetic limbs, calipers, wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches. The camp helped support the differently abled and give them a fresh start in life.

Other causes supported under HFSF are extending support in eliminating avoidable blindness in young girls and boys through medical interventions and supporting economically affected farmers by procuring select crops from them. We have also partnered with Sparsha Trust, an NGO in Bengaluru, that works for child education, child rights, safe homes, youth skill development, school development and early childcare. They provide poor and deprived children with essentials such as food, shelter, and education. We have partnered with Sparsha Trust to support underprivileged girls by sponsoring their education costs.

At the heart of HFSF is the desire to empower people to overcome challenges and help them lead happier lives.
